The Environmental Health Division of South Central Public Health District works closely with other state and local agencies to ensure our community drinking water is safe, locally sold food is safe, and the community environment is overall healthy.

Environmental Health Specialists are assigned to each of the eight Magic Valley Counties. These trained individuals issue permits, conduct plan reviews, and make environmental assessments for a variety of programs including food safety, child care, swimming pools, subsurface sewage disposal systems, drinking water and land development. Both education and regulation is in important to the district, and you'll see employees conducting classes, answering community questions, posting bulletins, and investigating complaints.
